MEN, PRISON, RAPE, TRANSITION

Life behind bars

I pay attention to the correlation between behaviors, incarceration, men raping women, women and girls living against the natural essence of the Sacred Feminine as a reaction and defense to men’s belief-systems, homosexuality, and the contradictions embedded within the tenets of Christianity in practice in the boys groups, and the men groups I facilitate. This is the simplest way I know to express complex issues around prison that surface in silent lives moving among us who have spent time in prison.

Are we seeing change of perceptions about prison or is money; the chance to profit from incarceration the agent of change at work in how white collar criminals approach restitution, punishment, and predatory sex in jail? According to this website, (Wall Street Prison Consultants) and a few others white collar criminals have courses available to them before they go to prison teaching survival in prison. Among regular folk services like this are unheard of, and as far as I know, transitional programs for prisoners released from jail are ineffective and leave as taboo the face and fact of predatory sex among men and women in jail.

Buried deep in the wounds and lives of inmates, former inmates, and their families lurks the dark hand of a secret we joke about, and deny at the same time. I see its hand in the children I work with. It is the dark side of the political power of the Gay community.

…Our fear of asking the right questions of the issues of our times affects our children. ~ Dawn Wolf
