Dictatorial Patriotism

"Now we are in a twilight zone moving into the Police state that shadowed communist countries during the Cold War. The state we are in now reminds me of the movies, the stories, the news reports that fueled our fearful imaginations and rallied us against the 'Communist' and 'Communism' in those days. How easy it was done. How little thought was employed to get us into this zone.

What little thought was employed to get us where we are now. I will always remember September 11th as the day many Americans followed the example of their lawmakers and suspended thought, were repulsed by introspection and discourse and sadly put their trust in an intellectually challenged President, who does not respect the basic tenets of our rights, freedoms or our professed ideals!

It was a day that patriotism replaced the truth and power was given away."
