THINK, then step

Be Careful of What You Step In
By Dr. Sinclair Grey III

Are you in something that's causing you a lot of headache, pain, and/or disappointment? In other words, you didn't plan on getting into something disgusting but you find yourself in deep 'doo-doo.' Unfortunately, whenever you find yourself in a messy situation, it can run you down, wear you out, and tamper with your emotions. However, the good news is that you don't have to stay in something that's funky. Let me make it plain. If what you're in is causing you frustration and aggravation, you need to get out of it. The more you stay in it, the more it'll affect you.

About five years ago, I had the unfortunate experience of stepping in dog stuff. Needless to say, I was upset for two reasons - a dog owner refused to pick up mess left behind and I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Whenever you neglect to pay attention to where you're going, you'll find yourself stepping in stuff that's foul and disgusting. I want you to get into your spirit if you're not careful about where you're going in life, you'll step into abusive relationships, recreational use of alcohol and drugs, illicit sexual relations to prove your worth, and unfulfilling jobs, just to name a few. Stepping into the wrong thing can make your life miserable.

In this spiritual journey, you need to know that God has given you what you need to get out of any mess, funk, or crazy situation. You have a right to leave anything that's detrimental to your spiritual temple. Don't make the mistake of defending or compromising with mess. You're better than any funk around you. If you find yourself in a filthy mess, you need to ask God for direction, repent of anything you've done to add to the mess, and make up your mind that you're going to be more cognizant of stuff you get involved in. It's easy stepping into mess, but often times, it's much harder getting out.

The Bible says, "Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings." Please don't miss this. Each day you must be prayed up, hooked up, and in right relationship with God. In a real sense, when you allow God to order your steps, you'll keep away from stepping into stuff that's contaminating. That's my word for you. As long as God's leading you, you're going in the right direction. Lean on Him and He'll take you where you need to go. 7.19.14
