United States for VIOLENCE

Condoleezza Rice made a surprise visit to Baghdad as the Secretary of State.

The phrase, 'Stopping Gun Violence' rings hollow to my ears. Creating programs against violence as if it is a person outside of ourselves is a fearful person's reaction to violence and violent people. None of the structures in place that supports the apex predator that is the United States are challenged to transform. Violence comes from within us, and there are far too many benefits to being a U.S. citizen to garner enough support for calming or transforming the violence of our American souls. The perception of there being no profit in peace is the fear of American culture. It is in our actions this fear. To exorcise this demon is too much to ask individuals so the expression of violence is always welcome in fundamental ways. It is evidenced in the way we drive, walk, do business and plow through trends, invade, raise our children, and assume ownership on other people's ways of living!

Violence is the American way of life and we defend it. How do we change what we love, and how do we change the soul of, and the roots of American life? The answer is simple to say, but it is too much work for  the average person unwilling to change their contradictions .  - Gregory E. Woods, 7.23.14
