Tempted by the EVE of SELF?

Battling Temptations
By Dr. Sinclair Grey III

Do you feel overpowered by temptations? When you make up your mind to do right, temptation(s) come knocking on your door. You're constantly being tempted to act up and act out to that which is contrary to what God has for you. Temptations come to pull you away from the protective shield that God has placed around you. There's no way to avoid temptation, but you don't have to fall into the trap. Whether it's greed, sex, drugs, or jealousy to name a few, temptation affects each person differently.

In this life, I've discovered you'll always be tempted in one form or another. Many of us have avoided certain temptations but slipped and fell into others. Fighting temptation seems to be a full-time job, but you need to know that you can do it. No matter what other people may say, you have power on the inside that's greater than anything on the outside. No matter how small the temptation is, falling into temptation leads to other things happening. What may seem small and insignificant in the beginning is the opening the enemy needs to plan an all out attack on your life. I want you to know that temptation comes to those who are living for God. Think about it for a moment - why would the enemy tempt someone on his side? It's only those who've decided to live and walk upright that the enemy tempts.

In this spiritual journey, we can learn a few lessons about temptations. The first lesson learned is that temptations draw your attention away from what God wants you to do into a state of self-imposed will. Whenever someone or something attempts to pull you away from what God has called you to do or what God has given you, they're trying to impose something other than God on you. The second lesson learned is that temptations cater toward pleasing your flesh instead of edifying your spirit. Just because it feels good doesn't mean it's good for you. Once you've decided to live for God, you're on Satan's hit list. Because you changed your life-choice from darkness to light, the enemy will do whatever is possible to trip you up.

However, the good news is that the One who created you is the One who can sustain you.
In his letter to the people of Corinth, the apostle Paul deposited these words, "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." Please don't miss this last lesson. God loves you so much that He will not allow that which is trying to bring you down to take you out. You can shout on this because God has everything under control. When situations are pulling you in every direction, God steps in and orders your steps. If you use God's escape route of prayer, praise, and His Word, I promise you that your life will be better. With every temptation comes a triumph because you can show the enemy how awesome God is. Remember, the battle isn't yours; it's the Lord's. [7.20.14]

19. As for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens (Paradise) as an entertainment, for what they used to do.

20. And as for those who are Fasiqun (disbelievers and disobedient to Allah), their abode will be the Fire, every time they wish to get away therefrom, they will be put back thereto, and it will be said to them: "Taste you the torment of the Fire which you used to deny."

21. And verily, We will make them taste of the near torment (i.e. the torment in the life of this world, i.e. disasters, calamities, etc.) prior to the supreme torment (in the Hereafter), in order that they may (repent and) return (i.e. accept Islam).

22. And who does more wrong than he who is reminded of the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of his Lord, then he turns aside therefrom? Verily, We shall exact retribution from the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.).

To a young cat who thought he was clever I cast disgust from my eyes to his smirk and said, "Your words speak volumes about who you are, who you're not and how you are not the type of man for a woman of substance. BLACKS THOUGHT HIGH OF THEMSELVES

A Black woman, Neisseria Gunn Arrears, posted a sentiment about a segment of Black thought. When first I read this I had an initial response. I said, "It is common, but it is hard on the ears hearing women using gruff language, but the point was well made. Neisseria Gunn Arrears grinds down into the core of a dysfunctional dream, and a hope held for centuries by African slaves."

Neisseria Gunn Arrears

Later reading the comments from mostly younger Black people I hit upon the missing in their thinking. One of the things younger people don't seem to understand, or appreciate in depth is why Black Americans reminded themselves of the eras of African civilizations. There is a deep emotional history that incredibly has fallen outside of their grasp. In this forum it is pointless to talk about it because the technologies that bring that information out is as present now as it was 40 and 80 years ago, and despite that the depth of this aspect of the Black experience evades their embrace.

Blacks had to think high of themselves even though there are holes in the probability of being a King or a Queen. Sadly, there are today more 'queens' in the Black community that don't and cannot inspire the deep pride a real Queen of a people would.  There should be more intellectual and spiritual recoil against the queens of our communities passing themselves off as authentic. Their inconsistencies are apparent and damaging, and worse they are allowed to pass themselves off as men.

I know the element of royalty, and the presence of a King's spirit and a Queen's spirit is behind the declarations of being a King and a Queen. It has been important to self-esteem. But, if that is no longer important to Black people of this generation what do you have that is better to offer and to be? What will you bring to the development and advancement of your people? Diatribes and sharp analysis of your preceding generations are important to the task of carrying on legacies but so is the work, and the unlearning so necessary to the struggle.

U.S. Increases Antiterrorism Exercises With African Militaries

ARUSHA, Tanzania — After a series of terrorist attacks on hotels and other tourist sites that raised concerns all across Africa, the United States has increased training exercises with militaries here, focusing on how to defend civilian targets on a continent that has become a significant battleground in the war against militant Islam.

In Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, United States Army troops simulated an elaborate hostage rescue with West African forces this month. The combined forces stormed a building, shot mock militants and secured the hostages.

In Kenya, American trainers funded by the State Department have been working with police commandos on how to respond to terrorist attacks like the Westgate shopping mall raid in 2013, when fighters with the Shabab, the local affiliate of Al Qaeda, killed 67 people and wounded 175 more.

And in Gabon next month, paratroopers from the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division — after crossing the Atlantic from their Fort Bragg, N.C., headquarters — are scheduled to jump out of a plane and straight into a joint exercise, part of an effort to train Central African militaries in elaborate raids, strikes and rescue missions.

The training effort between the American military and its African partners is a far cry from the days when the Pentagon viewed the continent as a place to avoid, fearing open-ended United Nations peacekeeping missions.

“In the past, Africa was seen through the peacekeeping lens,” said Jennifer Cooke, director of the Africa program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

But now, she said, “the U.S. looks at Africa differently.”

“Some of the threats, whether it’s Al Shabab, ISIL, Boko Haram or AQIM, pose a more direct and sophisticated threat to African states, to European allies, and potentially to the United States,” she added.

Those four militant Islamist extremist groups — the Shabab in East Africa, the Islamic State affiliate in Libya, Boko Haram in Central and West Africa, and Al Qaeda in the Maghreb region of West Africa — are widely believed to be the terrorist organizations that pose the most direct threat to civilians across the continent.

At an African Land Forces Summit meeting here last week, Gen. Mark A. Milley, the Army chief of staff, urged his African counterparts to draw on their own experiences battling colonial European powers to fight the four terrorist groups.

“Many of you in this room are descendants of fighters who practiced guerrilla warfare against the French, the British, the colonial forces of Europe,” General Milley told senior military officials from 37 African countries. “Embedded in your armies is the knowledge of how to fight guerrilla warfare.”
But defending “soft targets” — military jargon for hotels, restaurants, movie theaters, shopping malls and other places where unarmed civilians congregate — is difficult for sophisticated militaries, let alone the continent’s fledging security forces.

American law restricts the Pentagon’s direct work with African police forces — that is done through the State Department — so the American military often finds itself struggling to make sure that its training is going to the people most likely to be charged with carrying out missions like rescuing hostages.

“It’s going to take time,” General Milley said during his speech at the Arusha meeting, “but we’re going to do this selectively, without abusing people.”...  more

There Is Much To Being A MAN!

tattoos of a Black woman

In the study of being a man this topic is important. The aspect of manhood that is the warrior is required to examine this subject. Its meanings and affect on the psyche of children, and social conditioning affect the outcome of the substance of Life, and the lives of our children. That being said, and there is more to be said, I don't believe there is enough courage amongst many to broach this subject online, or in the open out of fear of the political power and structure of the Gay Movement. Meanwhile, in the real world there is a darker side to homosexuality that many parents, teachers and healers have to deal with in the shadow of coached public opinion.

You raise a powerful and disturbing question, Kumwaga Ra-Nu Kiganja KemPtah, asking if white people have the right to define heterosexuality for Black people! That is a hard question to ask a people whose intellectual and spiritual and cultural structures are formed and fashioned by whites and their relationship with white people spurns their onward progress in American society. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 6.22.14

"See the law of identity (crisis) is a Western cultural core filter which nurtures homosexuality. In algebra we learn that the equal sign is a balancing sign. And the law of identity states that Man=Man (Man can only balance Man) and Woman=Woman (Woman balances with Woman) and they abhor Man=Woman (Man balance Woman and vice versa). They call the unity of the great diversity "Contradictions" which undermines Western faulty thought and practice. Western thought and practice is circular thought for nothing."Kumwaga Ra-Nu Kiganja KemPtah 6.21.14

Rich White, Black Wife!

White Billionaires Prefer To Date Black Women; Because They Are ‘Loyal’ the Ghanaian article blared!

think it is worth the listen, but I recognize by a couple of dismissive comments the writer said that this is an observation piece of American culture by a Ghanaian. This is important to weigh because here in the States we are lost and absorbed in the dream, the fantastic illusions of our wealth and comfort and don't know how we look.

Anyway, here is the article. Read it and make your assessments. - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories 5.25.16

An interesting sociological trend has been recently observed within the small circles of the wealthy and powerful. Tabloids and other news outlets that specialize on gossip and lifestyle are reporting that more billionaire men can be seen with gorgeous and elegant dark-skinned women by their sides.
In reality, this observation is nothing new. In and of itself, powerful businessmen have been choosing women with African genes as their soul mates for centuries. However, a couple of online articles that were widely shared and circulated in early 2013 made it seem as if a handful of billionaire men and their peers suddenly paid attention to black women. Such is not the case; millionaires and billionaires have been interested in women of various skin tones and ethnic backgrounds for as long as they can remember, but the gossip media machine seems to have only recently paid attention to this matter.

That some very wealthy men prefer dark-skinned as their romantic partners is not surprising. What was surprising was a quote initially attributed to American tech investors Ben Horowitz, who ostensibly stated that black women made better wives because they are for grownups. Mr. Horowitz has made millions by making smart investments and wise decisions, not by making silly statements; he never uttered such nonsense, but he does have a gorgeous black woman by his side.

Aside from Mr. Horowitz, we know of other successful men whose dazzling partners are dark-skinned women. Robert DeNiro, Peter Norton, George Lucas, David Bowie, and the Prince of Liechtenstein come to mind in this regard, and these are just a few Western men who happen to be regularly reported on by the tabloid media. If we turn our attention to the African continent, we will find that the majority of men who are millionaires and billionaires over there have dark-skinned women as partners, and this is not by any means surprising.

If anything, the advent of Internet technology in the Information Age has made us more receptive to various constructs. Members of Generation X may recall a time when the tabloid and gossip media machine focused on a purported trend among successful African American men who apparently chose women of a different race as their partners.

This gossip item ended up being much ado about nothing since it only focused on a small circle of athletes, entertainers, and a handful of wealthy businessmen. To a certain extent, what we are seeing now is the opposite, and we should not believe it too much.

In the end, wealthy and powerful men are going to choose soul mates based on what their hearts and physical preferences tell them, and we can safely expect that beautiful, kindhearted dark-skinned women will continue to captivate them.  [author unidentified]

AFRICAN UNITY DAY

Today is 25 May, the Africa Unity Day or Africa Day

AFROdisiac, the sexy side of Black Power!!!!

Africa Day is the annual commemoration on May 25, 1963 founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). On this day, leaders of 30 of the 32 independent African states signed a founding charter in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In 1991, the OAU established the African Economic Community, and in 2002 the OAU established its own successor, the African... Union. However, the name and date of Africa Day has been retained as a celebration of African unity. 2012's theme of Africa Day was 'Africa and the Diaspora'. The New York celebration was held in New York City on May 31, 2011. In Nairobi, it was celebrated at Uhuru Park Recreational Park. Africa Day is observed as a public holiday in six African countries, that is, Ghana ,Mali, Namibia, Zambia, Lesotho and Zimbabwe. However, celebrations are held in some African countries, as well as by Africans in the diaspora.

The Organisation of African Unity (OAU; French: Organisation de l'unité africaine (OUA)) was established on 25 May 1963 in Addis Ababa, with 32 signatory governments. It was disbanded on 9 July 2002 by its last chairperson, South African President Thabo Mbeki, and replaced by the African Union (AU)

Soon after achieving independence, a number of African states expressed a growing desire for more unity within the continent. Not everyone was agreed on how this unity could be achieved, however, and two opinionated groups emerged in this respect:

The Casablanca bloc, led by Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, wanted a federation of all African countries. Aside from Ghana, it comprised also Algeria, Guinea, Morocco, Egypt, Mali and Libya. Founded in 1961, its members were described as "progressive states".
The Monrovian bloc, led by Senghor of Senegal, felt that unity should be achieved gradually, through economic cooperation. It did not support the notion of a political federation. Its other members were Nigeria, Liberia, Ethiopia and most of the former French colonies.
Some of the initial discussions took place at Sanniquellie, Liberia. The dispute was eventually resolved when Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie I invited the two groups to Addis Ababa, where the OAU and its headquarters were subsequently established. The Charter of the Organisation was signed by 32 independent African states.

The Organisation was praised by Ghanaian former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan for bringing Africans together.

The OAU was successful in some respects. Many of its members were members of the UN, too, and they stood together within the latter organisation to safeguard African interests – especially in respect of lingering colonialism. Its pursuit of African unity, therefore, was in some ways successful.

Total unity was difficult to achieve, however, as the OAU was largely divided. The former French colonies, still dependent on France, had formed the Monrovia Group, and there was a further split between those that supported the USA and those that supported the USSR in the Cold War of ideologies. The pro-Socialist faction was led by Kwame Nkrumah, while Félix Houphouët-Boigny of the Ivory Coast led the pro-capitalists. Because of these divisions, it was difficult for the OAU to take action against states involved in internal conflicts because it could rarely reach an agreement on what was to be done.

The OAU did, play a pivotal role in eradicating colonialism and white minority rule in Africa. It gave weapons, training and military bases to rebel groups fighting white minority and colonial rule. Groups such as the ANC and PAC, fighting apartheid, and ZANU and ZAPU, fighting to topple the government of Rhodesia, were aided in their endeavours by the OAU. African harbours were closed to the South African government, and South African aircraft were prohibited from flying over the rest of the continent. The UN was convinced by the OAU to expel South Africa from bodies such as the World Health Organisation.

The OAU also worked with the UN to ease refugee problems. It set up the African Development Bank for economic projects intended to make Africa financially stronger. Although all African countries eventually won their independence, it remained difficult for them to become totally independent of their former colonisers. There was often continued reliance on the former colonial powers for economic aid, which often came with strings attached: loans had to be paid back at high interest-rates, and goods had to be sold to the aiders at low rates.

The USA and USSR intervened in post-colonial Africa in pursuit of their own objectives. Help was sometimes provided in the form of technology and aid-workers. While useful, such external assistance was often perceived[who?] as not necessarily in the best interests of the former colonies. Despite the fight to keep "Westerners" (Colonialists) out of African affairs, the OAU has failed to achieve to meet goals set up to advocate African affairs. The Organisation still heavily depended on Western help (Military and Economic) to intervene in African affairs despite African leaders displeasure dealing with the international community especially Western Countries.

Autonomous specialised agencies, working under the auspices of the OAU, were:

Pan-African Telecommunications Union (PATU)
Pan-African Postal Union (PAPU)
Pan-African News Agency (PANA)
Union of African National Television and Radio Organisations (URTNA)
Union of African Railways (UAR)
Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU)
Supreme Council for Sports in Africa
African Civil Aviation Commission

The organisation was derided as a bureaucratic "talking shop" with little power. It struggled to enforce its decisions, and its lack of armed force made intervention exceedingly difficult. Civil wars in Nigeria and Angola continued unabated for years, and the OAU could do nothing to stop them.

The policy of non-interference in the affairs of member states also limited the effectiveness of the OAU. Thus, when human rights were violated, as in Uganda under Idi Amin in the 1970s, the OAU was powerless to stop them.

Tribute to Audrey

Audrey Hepburn

"The beautiful, the talented, the incredible, Ms. Audrey Hepburn. For my money, she was one of the most beautiful actresses ever to grace the silver screen...such a lovely eyes; such a perfect face... But besides just being gorgeous, she had a tremendous heart as well. She worked tirelessly for many wonderful charities and used her celebrity to bring attention to the plight of the less fortunate around the world right up until the last moments of her life.

We miss you dearly Audrey, and will love you forever. Not just because you were a great beauty and an even greater artist, but because you cared so deeply about others and used your gifts to help them. You will inspire many, but there will never be another one like you!" - Super Hot 5.17.15

The profound pride the average American seems to have knowing as little as possible about the myriad of things citizen's of a global power should know in depth isn't enough to engineer pride in mature citizens throughout the world where Americans know little about. Fear induced pseudo intellectuals are running rampant across the social spectrum with their heads tucked under their arms and what is pitiful and has long been disgusting in the American psyche is stirring citizens into frenzy around the cauldron of the blackest of sorcerers.

My depth of understanding Islam and adherents to the faith comes from living in an Arab country in my formative years and the deep study of the 'blood religions' (Christianity, Islam, and Judaism) I undertook over the years. Study is a prerequisite to being a follower of a religion. The fundamentals of the blood religions are from one source and the pride Americans enjoy being ignorant is the fault any enemy can and has played with with ever growing success. Like all bullies there is a blind spot they cannot perceive, and cannot look through because introspection is not considered valuable.

For any enemy of the United States this flaw has always been the basis of offensives in the wars against us and what we have done to others the world over. Because the fundamentalists of the U.S. government, the Christian church, and the core of American perception: white supremacy cannot 'see' themselves that blind spot is the weapon 'terrorists' use against our place in the world. - Gregory E. A holy woman who has made the pilgrimage to Mecca is as important as a Beloved Woman of the Cherokee People. But, as history has shown do not respect or listen to the voices of mothers and grandmothers. As President Bush administration drove home during his tenure after the towers fell the government would not listen to the voice of grieving mothers whose sons died in war and base decisions. In the early days of this country's formation the white men who studied the Great Law of the Iroquois Confederacy could not swallow the power women had to select their chief, and to declare war. Benjamin Franklin and the other intellectual giants and visionaries of the Colonial period were cut from the cloth they came from and women had no place or influence in government, or finance or any other major area in life.

This historical flaw is a fact. This long standing philosophy leaves Americans unable to understand why and how Muslim women can strap on bombs and blow up people! But, a people whose men used to cut Indian women's vaginas off their bodies to dress the horns of their saddles have trouble fathoming female suicide bombers. Why is that?

As we know, Islam, as in every day for the last 15yrs. is dominating the headlines. Some of us are and will be approached to explain the entire Middle Eastern narrative and apologize for "Islam" as expressed by the media and other either uninformed sources.

I say to my family, friends, colleagues and associates, you should want to know the intel on Islam but you should want to make the effort to seek an understanding. It will not be a 30 second sound bite because it is an entirely different paradigm than you've been spoon fed, complicated by political agendas that don't run parallel to the Faith or Humane universal principles. You must also know the history of your government's foreign policy and its foundational principles as a World Power. That's a lot.

In the meantime, if you have a relationship with a Muslim look at their example, think about the 1.6-2 billion Muslims in the world. If we moved as one big monolithic thingy and we were coming for you...You know how this would end...

Just Sayin'... Find your Common Sense, if you don't have the time to intellectually process the current events.

UNDERSTANDING what is between us

The image and the understanding of a woman who is a mother is a part of how her lover or husband views her when she is the most vulnerable to who they are as a couple. In a sheer black night gown and nothing else she is a serious vixen capable and bent upon conquest and consumption of the oils, the liquids and fumes of what within her man is essential to her sexual being. It is magical romance, lust, desire and need for each other. The man's penis, her wet vagina and the secrets they share are like cinnamon to sweet breads, or pollen to the butterfly.
