Discovery of White Women

Self-expression is a state of being newly recovered by white women. Their Bohéme style of dress tickles the senses. Their need to express is refreshing. On one level it is cumbersome, awkward because it is new to them after being subjugated to being the women of white men, and heiresses to the spoils of wars against the rest of the world. So there, their sense of freedom need not be measured by the standards of women emerging from under the rubble of European conquest and subjugation. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories (9.16.16)

Freedom felt by a white woman walking on an empty beach is different. Being a Black woman on a public beach has a different set of connotations. - Dawn Wolf, Keeper of Stories
