Being Bethenny

Bethenny Frankel beneath all intents and purposes is a mother; scattered, but a mother nonetheless. Like many white women she feels a need to do a lot proving something separate from the fundamental role essential to the continuation of Life. Even that assertion about motherhood is contested vehemently. It is as if something offended American white women a long time ago and an oath was taken to never submit to the servitude of traditional motherhood, which must have been harrowing for their foremothers because servitude and nurturing are two different energies!

She was born November 4, 1970. The culture clashes of the 1950's and 1960's were closing down into a kind memory unprepared for the next upheaval that came during the Nixon presidency. That political turmoil, as all political turmoil at this level of danger, affects children into adulthood in the most subtle and interesting ways. It takes a lot of probing to find out how historical events affect children. Many don't decipher these events or incorporate into their thinking the possibility how such things occur undetected in their storylines. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories 10/03/16
