Gaps in the Thoughts

simplicity of a black on white ensemble.

There is a gap between youth and old age that isn't a distance but a journey. There is an illusion old people like to fall into: youth can be extended. There are fears inherent to youth of old age and dying, and amongst the old is the dread of dead for lives under lived. For those schooled in their spirit to be wise elders death is a release they prepare others to feel as a good legacy. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories April 28, 2017

90 year old woman. Sho' nuff fine!

Unaware thinking they are hip.

Nothing stylish, hip or reminiscent of the splendor of the resilience of African women in the mindless habit of staring at their phone. It speaks not of strength. The perception of awareness is not present in the unawareness of being absorbed by narrow focus. This era is a gift for predators, and killers and other nefarious people left out of the deluge of prosperity, and separated from the illusion of self-importance.

There is no power in the posture of being unaware.

Eartha Kitt by Gordon Parks

Eartha Kitt a long time ago purred, "It's all about falling in love with yourself and sharing that love with someone who appreciates you, rather than looking for love to compensate for a self love deficit."

Yeah, she said that but she was a mysterious woman who kept her past and her origin story behind a mist of sorts. She exuded an intangible that made relationships with her a dream that may never come. Eartha Kitt, and Angie Dickinson and similar complexes. Men wanted them, but could not fathom the configurations the women presented to them. That mystery kept them desirable into their old age. - Gregory E. Woods, Keeper of Stories
