Powers Wrestle with Flesh.

Ana Cheri's staggering beauty!!!!
As a caption to this moment she wrote, 'This crazy little thing called love! Have a great day! In response Anthony Love wrote, :I'm sorry, but there is no love. I just want to get in between the top👆🏽and bottom👇🏽split."

Maybe it was ten years ago. Rev. Sinclair Grey III and I facilitated rites-of-passage ceremonies and teaching circles together for an organization, Progressive Lives, in Washington DC. Later we worked with the Empowerment Center, now out of Landover, Maryland. Sinclair has long left this work, but the work we did those years ago had powerful effects upon us, and deepened not only our friendship, but our manhood testing our capacity to care and share with Black boys out of synch with the natural world and its expectations of masculinity and manhood.

One of the aspects of training a boy is the way one penetrates the sexual dynamic of each boy. Of the many ways to do this Sinclair's knack for asking the right questions to do just that came into play when he asked a group of boys from the Black upper middle class of Prince George's county in Maryland a profound question.

"If there was a girl in your neighborhood, and she was Beyoncé fine and everybody knew she got around, but she was phat tuh death, and she said you could hit 'it' and even ride it bare back (meaning without a condom). Would you?"

With the exception of one every one of those said, "Hell yeah! I hit that! You mean we could ride it bare back? Oh, hell yeah!"

We exchanged looks. Sinclair took in some air. This was a dousy.

"Now, listen. If this chick. Beyoncé fine gave up the booty to any of you and you could sleep with her with no condom and you know she's HIV positive you would hit that? You'd jump all over that?"

With the exception of one their excitement went through the top of their heads. They all would.

Sinclair and I looked into each other's eyes. We couldn't believe this. We were stupefied. This was followed by twenty minutes of dialogue before one by one the boys were hit by the profundity of what they saw arise from within themselves. It was sobering for all. But, the one kid who refused to participate, or buckle under the peer pressure was unmoved by any of it. In his words he said it wasn't worth it to lose his life for one moment of pleasure. It didn't make sense to him.

Everybody was changed by this one question. Now, this story, I will call the Beyoncé story, is connected to Ana Cheri.

Ana Cheri is a staggering beauty. She is dynamic. Once she modeled for Playboy. Now, she is a successful fitness trainer. She models in the style of her generation using the multi-services of the internet to campaign, to make herself known and to expand her 'brand'. The most striking photograph of hers I saw amongst her portfolio she was wearing a cleverly designed black dress accented by the lacing of black heels gracing her pretty feet. She wore a wide brim hat in a humble way that allowed the eye to enjoy the way her hair fell upon her shoulders to rest atop her amble breasts peaking from the four buttons unbuttoned beneath her neckline. She appears to be in the wide open space of an art gallery with the photographs of famous Black singers and entertainers covering the wall behind her just out of focus. As a caption to this moment she wrote, 'This crazy little thing called love! Have a great day!"

With words I have painted a wonderful moment anybody would appreciate and enjoy having themselves because feeling beautiful and wonderful and doing what you love the most is profoundly gratifying. It liberates in its own special way. Such moments are celebratory, but in this story scores and scores of men poured out a stream of profane images into cyberspace her direction. The images in their words emerged from their perceptions of what I just saw and shared with you. For example:

Andy Bustamante said, Y'all fucking gay be real. I'd eat her ass and get her pregnant on life. She ain't safe no where. Give me 5 seconds. That's all I need son to breed her. I'm not there to fuck around. Life's too short to be worrying about her satisfacfion.

Anthony Love: I'm sorry, but there is no love. I just want to get in between the top👆🏽and bottom👇🏽split.

It is a deep sadness that reaches me, even though I know these are common reactions and fantasies men have longing for women, because I have daughters and other women in my life important to me who by natural law are subject to these impulses. Thankfully, most of them cannot be worked out. But, on the other hand it is disingenuous of me to position myself aloof as if I am a guru high atop a ledge in a mountain range somewhere in China, or a remote area of Yellowstone National Park because the fundamental fact of our nature is sexual urges. The responses to sexual stimulation are different online because people are writing them down and cyberspace has a level of permanence alive in the machines. What is in the heart remains in the heart, the imaginations of both men and women wanting sex with each other. So, the question: what determines evil: dreaming of it, or being the dream of the opposite sex? is on the table for thought and discussion.

Well, there are the examples and what rivals the story of Beyoncé and the boys is this short one taken from the endless comments of men reacting to former Playboy model Ana Cheri in her Playboy garb last December. One man, who calls himself Sherazz Bhuttah said these words: "Ana, I would drag my balls through 1 million miles of broken glass across the Sahara desert with Rosie O'Donnell's queef as my only air supply just to get a whiff of your panties after they had been donated to a thrift store and used as a cum rag by a HIV positive homeless man.!"

Some of the responses came quickly giving scope to the subject of evil. Rafiq Dawood responded saying, "You my friend need help from the experts Sheraz. Just try therapy because your message you posted is very sick and too dirty even for adults not even kids to read on Facebook. So you shouldn't post those types of comments on this website just keep it to yourself all of your sexual thoughts or ideas. It's actually very twisted even just for likes, your mind is very dirty just more than the normal human being so that's unusual and not healthy at all."

Sherazz answered. "And you are...?"

Ryan Cotter, a guitarist and a worker at Cheesecake Factory matter-of- factly said, "Rafiq Dawood damn if you think that's unhealthy just wait til you hear what I wanna do to you. This comment will have the bitches drippin wet and blowing up ur inbox fa sho!"

Xaris Goldmouthallreadys chimed in. "Rafiq Dawood i think he is exaggerating to emphasize his desire, some will find this expression inspired and poetic, but anyway, when u see a picture sexist as this u re meant to express your sexual thoughts." DeSean Perez said, "I aint even mad. I'm impressed." Chris Ortiz said, "That was impressive."

If this ain't evil who is safe?

To understand one has to not only plunge into his/her darkness, but the darkness of the shadows of the culture and belief structures shaping your family, your community, your country, your culture. To see the light and hold the hope of enlightenment the darkness has to be probed. If the darkness is yours and within you and a lot is in there; you need the fear to be courageous enough to move into the darkness with the purpose to resurrect Life the way Jesus did from the underworld during the three days of his death from the Earth plane.

This is the calling of life-death-resurrection. It incapacitates. It dares us and it makes it clear that this process is the process to conquer death, not for its capacity for alienation, but release from the fear and the dread of it simultaneously strengthening the need to make an alliance with death to enhance and deepen your life. This is the great mystery sexual energies penetrate.

Ana Cheri said, 'I love traveling, but I'll always be a Cali girl.'

"I'm originally from San Diego, born and raise till the age of 25, but I must say; love me the east coast. So many places to see in such a short drive; especially if you live ine the middle like me. I can swim in the gulf, or visit the outter banks, spen a weekend in NYC or bask in the Florida Sun. Mountains, beaches, lakes, rivers, urban living and country time resting, and lets not forget if your a history buff like me then; there is no comparison as to all the places you can go.

But I still love the 619 till I die! Arriva la Raza, y el que se raje pierde...

"Girls like you are the reason life is worth living in this evil world Just viewing your pics are a blessing in itself marveling at your physical and mental qualities. A true gift you are created by God sent from Heaven into Hell we say is reality. God will ensure you live one of the best lives ever because you honestly deserve it and have earned it for your humbleness, your generosity to all your fans as well as your overall level of respect for people in this world is very high plus you possess great character, class and elegance all together at the same time in one personality. Seriously, a very unique girl and this is the truth not an exaggeration or false." -- Rafiq Dawood  Dec. 9, 2016

"for girls your ONLY hustle is IN-BETWEEN your legs. That thing between your legs can have a man do whatever and still take you everywhere just for that one thing " - Chad Bedderson  Dec. 9, 2016
